Overview and Definition
At Vivid, we believe creativity can only flourish in an environment built on respect, fairness, and dignity. Slavery, forced labour, child labour, and human trafficking are serious crimes that violate fundamental human rights. Together, these abuses are referred to as “Modern Slavery.” Modern Slavery strips people of their liberty and often exploits them financially, leaving individuals vulnerable and without choice.
We are clear: there is no place for Modern Slavery in our business, or in the supply chains that support us. We are committed to doing business fairly, ethically, and with respect for every individual.
This policy forms part of our Company Handbook. It does not form part of your contract of employment, and we may update it from time to time to reflect legislation or best practice.
All those working for or on behalf of Vivid - including employees, directors, officers, consultants, volunteers, suppliers, and service providers — must read, understand, and comply with this policy.
Responsibility for this policy sits with our Financial Officer who acts as our Anti-Slavery Officer (ASO), who reports directly to the Board. Failure to comply with this policy may result in disciplinary action, including dismissal or contract termination, and could also lead to legal consequences.
Preventing Slavery in Our Business
Vivid takes active steps to ensure our workplace is safe, fair, and compliant with all legal standards. This includes:
- Conducting checks on all employees, recruitment agencies, and suppliers to ensure transparency in who works with us and for us.
- Providing every employee with a written contract of employment.
- Paying all employees above the Real Living Wage, and in full compliance with the law.
- Upholding legal obligations relating to health and safety, working hours, rest breaks, and holidays.
We combine these commitments with a culture of openness, inclusion, and trust. Our people are encouraged to raise concerns, and we act on them promptly.
Expectations for Suppliers
If you supply Vivid with goods or services, you must take responsibility for your own business and supply chain. Specifically, we expect you to:
- Assess your business and supply chain to ensure there is no slavery, servitude, forced labour, child labour, or human trafficking.
- Confirm to our ASO that you comply with your legal obligations and share our commitment to preventing Modern Slavery.
- Provide us with a copy of your own Anti-Slavery Policy, if you have one.
If a supplier breaches this policy, or knowingly allows slavery or trafficking in its business or supply chain, we may terminate our relationship and pursue legal remedies.
Responsibilities for Employees and Workers
Every Vivid employee or worker providing services for us has a duty to remain vigilant. If you suspect any form of Modern Slavery in our business or supply chains, you must report it immediately to our ASO.
The ASO will investigate concerns promptly and report to the Board of Directors, ensuring that any necessary action is taken.
You will not suffer any detrimental treatment for raising genuine concerns in good faith — even if they are later found to be mistaken. If you believe you have experienced negative treatment as a result of raising a concern, please inform the ASO immediately. Employees may also refer to our Grievance and Whistleblowing Policies.
Our Commitment
At Vivid, we recognise that preventing Modern Slavery is an ongoing responsibility. We will continue to strengthen our policies, review our suppliers, and raise awareness within our team. By working together with openness and integrity, we ensure that our business remains not only creative and effective, but also ethical and just.
